Energy Efficiency

Of course, energy efficiency is an important part of eco-friendly homes. A well-insulated home with low E glass, double glazed windows, will help save energy and adding solar panels can help you create energy. Some eco-friendly homes even add power into the power grid and make money back from the electric companies by using solar or wind power. And adding solar panels to a home isn't nearly as expensive as it used to be, you can even make your own solar panels with simple instructions and a kit that you can purchase. Some choose to heat their water with solar panel, thereby reducing their need for gas or electricity.

Making the Earth a Better Place

More and more people are realizing the importance and benefits of creating eco-friendly homes to better manage the earth's natural resources so it can be a better place for future generations. More homes are being built with green building materials and techniques and people are even taking steps to make their current homes more environmentally sound. As building eco-friendly homes becomes more popular, these techniques will likely become more commonplace and actually become the standard for the home building industry. Whenever someone asks me what I have in my bag or purse, I can’t help but imagine the scene from Mary Poppins, where the title characters pulls huge items out of her seemingly bottomless carpet bag. In real life, we just can’t carry everything and the kitchen sink in our promotional conference bags, so when you stock yours, make sure that you’re loaded with the most essential items.

First, pack for the event. Don’t forget that you can carry your promotional conference bag to places other than conferences! In fact, promotional conference bags can go with you on every business trip, as well as on leisure trips if appropriate. What you carry to a job fair might be drastically different than what you carry to the beach! Remember to clean out your bag after every trip so that you aren’t using it to store useless items.

Don’t pack anything too large, heavy, or bulky. Large and bulk items will look unprofessional, as they will cause your promotional conference bag to bulge unnaturally. It can also cause zippers to burst or snaps to break. If you must carry larger items, pack them separately or use a larger bag. Heavy items are also not good for your promotional conference bag because this could cause damage, especially to the straps. On an even more serious note, it is important to keep your bags light in order to save your back and shoulders. Your health may be on the line if you have to strain to carry items.

What you should pack for sure is other promotional gifts that you can give away. If you’re going to a conference or event where you won’t have your own stand, pack your bag with lots of different items promoting your product or service. To keep things organized, keep like items in pockets together so that no matter what you want to hand to someone, you know where it is kept. If possible, you can also carry one of your products with you so that you can show it to potential customers or even do demonstrations.

Of course, also carry with your business cards, brochures, and other promotional items. When carrying these items, consider a conference folder to prevent them from bending in your bag. These are great items as well to keep in pockets that are easy to access, since they are the items you’ll give out the most.

Lastly, when packing your promotional conference bag, remember to leave some space. While traveling, you will definitely pick up a few items along the way. Instead of carrying an additional shopping bag full of items, simply save space when you first pack! Saving space will ensure that you have room to carry all of your goodies with no problem.

Remember, your promotional conference bag is not worth the money if you never use it! Carry it with you whenever you go on a trip and make sure that it is packed with the right items!

These printers employ a xerographic printing process which differs from the analog photocopiers in which the images are produced by the direct scanning of a laser beam across the printer’s photoreceptor. Unlike impact printers, laser printers can print over 200 monochrome pages per minute and the fastest colour laser printers can print over 100 pages per minute. These fast printers are mainly used for mass mailings of personalized documents such as credit cards and utility bills.

The cost of this remarkable technology depends on various factors such as cost of paper, toner and sporadic drum replacement, only the printers with soft plastic drums can be a little expensive. An easy way to reduce the paper costs and filing volumes is to have a Duplex Printer; a printer that prints on both sides of the paper.

Unlike the typical black and white laser printers, colour laser printers add colour tone to the matter being printed. To sanction high registration accuracy some colour laser printers use a large belt to generate the image. All the four layers of the toner CMYK, i.e.: cyan, magenta, yellow and key (black), are precisely applied to the belt, and the combined layers are then applied to the paper in a single step.

The laser printing process mainly includes 7 steps to process an image, once the image generation is complete the printing process starts which permits the use of a very small and compact unit, where the photoreceptor is charged and the entire process can be completed before the drum completes one revolution .This colored laser technology is also helpful for the government, in case of tracking down some important documents. This is done by flashing an LED flashlight beam on the printer which will create a few small, scattered yellow dots which could be used to trace the documents back to you.

But you were only deceived by the frosty hues of fluorescent lamps which were constructed by machines for machines. Now you shrug off that illusion. All the petty arguments, all the hidden resentments, all the unsolvable problems which have burdened your mind have vanished. You suddenly understand that life should be no more complicating than the still glow of a Moroccan lantern.

Then you are reminded of feelings so distant that you can not even be sure if they are from this lifetime. Simplicity. Romance. Adventure. Within each wrought-iron curve of the henna lamps, artisans have encoded epic poems of survival and triumph. Like Morocco itself, the lamps represent the sum of diverse cultures and religions-- European, Christian, African, Muslim-- each distinct yet absolutely integral to the design of the lanterns. They capture the souls of their creators, only to release them again in a kaleidoscopic display of color and light. This one, crafted by a Berber artist in Marrakesh, based on a design made popular by an Arab from Casablanca. These are no ordinary lamps, but the distillation of centuries of human experience.

Bedbugs have become epidemic in at least 25 states. What were once parasites associated with dirty hotels or third world countries, have reemerged as enemy number one as far as insect pests go.

Along with dust mites and the lesser talked about scabies, bedbugs are infesting hotel after hotel in every major city in America, as well as Europe and Canada. While this modern outbreak has been going on for the past 5 years, the media has only began reporting on this scourge over the last couple of years.

Tourists who, a few years ago, would just shrug off any report on bedbugs, have begun to sit up and take notice. Bedbug blogs and web sites litter the in internet as do products to protect against the little vampires.

One of the primary reasons for the interest in bedbugs from the public is the frequency by which these vermin are transported back to the homes of vacationers and business travelers. Once bedbugs enter a home or hotel, even office complex, they are excruciatingly hard to eradicate. Bedbugs have evolved over tens of thousands of years to adapt to their main meal ticket, humans. Newly resistant to a broad range of chemicals, bedbugs have flourished since the banning of DDT in the seventies.

Although bedbugs have never been proven to be a transmission vector for any disease, few studies have been done on this subject. The only danger to human health so far , is the allergic reaction people can experience after being bitten.

Bedbugs are spread 2 ways. By people transporting them in luggage or belongings and by migration between rooms, condos or apartments.

With the above said, here are the top 5 travel accessories to protect yourself, and prevent infesting your home with bedbugs.

1) A Travel Sheet - Make sure, whichever travelsheet you choose, that it is zippered and enclosed on 3 sides and that it is washable in hot water and dry-able in hot air. Heat is the only way to effectively kill bedbugs and their eggs. A travel sheet can’t be 100% effective, only a heavy duty garbage bag sealed all the way around can guarantee no bedbug bites. But a travel sheet will mitigate your exposure and protect you from a host of other ills.

2) Bedbug-Proof Bags for your belongings - Many companies make bags especially for the purpose of protecting your clothes from being infested by bedbugs while they are folded in the drawers of your hotel room. This might seem like overkill but it happens all the time. Even commonly used plastic zipper bags, like the ones used for food are effective. Heavy duty garbage bags also work well but you must seal them very well. Bedbugs can fit through the smallest of spaces.

3) Painters Tape - An excellent deterrent, painters tape will not damage your room but will prevent bedbugs from crossing over wherever it is applied. Around the headboard, mattress, bed, bed legs, inside drawers etc. It takes very little time to apply, is inexpensive and can even be used in luggage.

4) Non Toxic Sprays -  There are so many products on the market that claim the ability to kill on contact and continue providing protection. Be aware, some work, some don’t. The best way of determining which brand to use is either by word of mouth or testimonials. Included in this group is food grade diatomaceous earth, powder made of the exoskeletons of microscopic sea creatures. DT kills by wearing away the protective coatings or scratching the exoskeletons of the bedbugs causing them to eventually die of exposure or dehydration. I say “ eventually “ because it takes time for DT to work. Remember if you buy DT it MUST be food grade otherwise it is a danger to humans and pets.

5) Luggage Sanitizers - Most of these are sprays meant to kill bedbugs. Sprayed in luggage, they kill bedbugs and their eggs so they won’t infest your home. There is one product on the market that kills by heat. When a disaster happens, failing to prepare is preparing to fail. Those that are prepared in advance with the correct supplies and action plan will inevitably be in a better position than those that do not. You should develop a unique action plan for each place that you and members of your family visit; this includes work, school, the gym and the homes of other members of your family.

In the case of a disaster contacting other members of your family could be difficult. That is why you need to have a plan which will dictate where your family will meet in case of emergencies.
